Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Rowland Brothers is a long-established, family-run independent funeral directors with a proud history of supporting families with care and compassion. We are now looking for a dedicated and empathetic Funeral Arranger to join our team in Purley.
This is a meaningful and fulfilling role that involves helping families through some of the most difficult times in their lives, ensuring that every farewell is personal, respectful, and handled with the utmost professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meet with families to plan and arrange funeral services, providing compassionate support and clear guidance.
- Accurately complete and manage all necessary paperwork, both digitally and in hard copy.
- Coordinate bookings with cemeteries, crematoria, officiants, grave diggers, and other service providers.
- Arrange for the dignified collection and care of the deceased, including dressing and presentation (full training provided).
- Liaise daily with the mortuary team to ensure high standards of care and presentation for the deceased.
- Place funeral notices in newspapers, order floral tributes, and design orders of service.
- Oversee funeral arrangements from start to finish, ensuring a smooth and respectful process.
- Engage with the local community through outreach and fundraising activities.
- Maintain a clean, welcoming, and professional working environment in the office, reception, and chapels.
- Provide cover at other branches as needed.
- Offer aftercare services, including memorials, ashes jewellery, fingerprint keepsakes, and urn arrangements.
- Represent the company at local events and networking opportunities.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Naturally empathetic and caring disposition
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in funeral arranging (preferred)
- Experience with EFD funeral software
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident with computer systems and accurate paperwork handling
- Impeccable timekeeping and presentation
- Full UK driving licence and access to own vehicle
- FAA Certificate (preferred, but not essential—training available)
